The story behind the image
I love to run in the morning, and even more so when I’m on vacation. In 2020 we went to Seeboden in Austria, and it’s great to have a lake next to your track. I had started before sunrise, but when I returned, I realized that the light of the sunrise was getting perfect. Magical. Mesmerizing. So I went back to the Pichler pier to capture this photo looking towards south-east. Isn’t smartphone photography great?
I did not want to include the sun in the frame because it would have destroyed the wide range of subtle blue and light orange tones in the photo. As so often, I am surprised that only very little editing was needed here. Love it.
