The story behind the image
We were on the Isle of Mull on our way from Salen to Tobermory. The A848 was close to the coastline, and suddenly we discovered these ship wrecks. The sun was coming out in this moment, so I stopped the car, grabbed the camera and captured this photo.
I like how the wide angle lens underlines the size of the wrecks. The colors are unusually attractive as they have eroded over time and now show many more shades than when they were new. What’s more, the sunlight put the wrecks almost exclusively into focus while leaving the background rather dark.
