The story behind the image
During holidays, I love to take my camera during the early morning hours and explore the surroundings before sunrise when only very few people are around. This is perfect relaxation for me and enables me to become one with the scene.
And so I went to the Pichler landing pier in Seeboden, Austria, before sunrise to see what’s happening (if anything at all). Two years ago I captured an awesome photo with my smartphone. This time I wanted to get a similar image but using better equipment.
Much to my surprise there was already a lot of action on the lake. There were several swimmers and two or three SUP’ers. It was next to impossible to re-do that image from the past. But I was mesmerized by one lady on her SUP as she headed towards Millstatt (visible in the back). Her board created tiny, gentle waves, breaking the mirror-like surface of the lake.
I just love the peace and beauty of this image.
