The story behind the image
And then there are images that are impressive but I fail to remember where I captured them. This is even worse for framed slides that can easily lose even the smallest bit of context that there is – the surrounding frames. What’s more, analog images are usually older and thus the memories fade away easier. Oh my.
Here is a perfect example. A beautiful field of flax. No, that’s wrong. It’s not just a field, it is a sea of flax. A huge purple sea of plants, located somewhere on the countryside in Ireland. It was probably even more impressing when we stood next to the field. Maybe I was so overwhelmed that I forgot to write down where the field was located.
Bugger.
Anyway, I love this image for its colors and composition that makes the field almost look like a river or a fjord of the sea.
If only I could remember where it was.
