The story behind the image

Lake Garda in Italy is just a four-hour drive from our home in Munich, Germany, (on good days) but thanks to its true Italian flair it makes a genuine difference compared to daily life in Germany. This is not just true for the weather (which is usually warmer than in Germany) but also for the mood and culture.

While we walked through the historic town center of Malcesine we discovered the beautiful Palazzo dei Capitani. The gates to the tiny garden were open and revealed a small palm tree, a clear indicator for a nice climate. I used the archway to frame the little palm tree, and the lake provided some structure in the background.

Nice.
