The story behind the image
The first overnight stop of our 2005 Scotland trip was in Dumfries at the western coast. After checking in to our B&B for the night we drove to Caerlaverock Castle situated just 15 km south of Dumfries. It was already 6.30 pm, and we were too late to visit the castle. The housekeeper was about to close the castle to visitors. Bad luck for us.
Then again I could capture this very nice photo.
