The story behind the image
Here’s an nice shot from the Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany. Every morning, the breweries show off historic horse-drawn carriages with beer barrels at the Theresienwiese where the fest takes place. One morning I captured a number of photos of the action, including this detailed shot of beer barrel # 26843 of the Paulaner brewery.
Of course, they do not use horse-drawn carriages any longer to get the beer to the fest, and not even small lorries. Today, the breweries have huge cold tanks where the tents will be, and these are refilled whenever necessary. Even if the beer seems to be tapped from a huge barrel, it is simply pumped up from the tanks. Otherwise, the breweries would not be able to server millions of liters of beer during the two weeks of the Oktoberfest.
In my photo I like the colors, the symmetry and the delicate details of the wood.
Nice.
