The story behind the image
Enroute from Oban at the Scottish west coast to the east coast we stopped in Stirling around noon. The city is often called The Heart of Scotland, because it marks the entry point towards the Scottish Highlands. One of its main attractions is Stirling Castle which used to be a strategic military location. Seven major battles were fought here between England and Scotland from 1297 to 1766.
Sterling is a must-see when you are in the region.
