The story behind the image
This is the Knysna Lagoon, seen from The Old Cape Road Guest House which has ceased business a while ago. (Now the Phoenix Lodge and Waterside Accommodation operates in the location) We had a fantastic (yet affordable!) suite at the top of the house, providing a perfect view on the lagoon, the old railway bridge and the opening towards the Indian Ocean known as The Heads.
Before we left I shot this stunning photo of the Knysna Lagoon. The blue sky reflected beautifully on the surface of the lagoon – and this view alone would have provided me with enough energy for another adventurous day on the Garden Route in South Africa (but we enjoyed an awesome breakfast at the guest house.)
By the way, here is an image of the sunrise over Knysna, also shot from our patio.
