The story behind the image
In the morning it had happened: I woke up, for no special reason, and I noticed that it was still dark. But the sun would rise soon. I felt refreshed and grabbed my tripod and the camera bag quietly and got on the patio of our room at The Old Cape Road Guest House (now Phoenix Lodge and Waterside Accommodation.) I did some shots before sunrise, but this photo is the most impressive one as the sun had begun to lurk over the hills in the distance! A beautiful moment, really unmissable. The silence of the early morning combined with this view was overwhelming and deeply satisfying.
P.S.: Looking at the satellite image now, I realize that the N2 is now a four-lane highway that passes right in front of the accommodation where we stayed. I don’t remember it to be that huge.
