The story behind the image
I’d attribute the label of ‘magic’ to Cape Town in South Africa. Here, you will meet a wide range of cultures, explore stunning landscapes and discover countless opportunities for exciting photos.
This photo is a good example. We were walking along the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront (V&A) which is a working harbour and a shopping/entertainment center at the same time. Here Cape Town presents itself truly from its best side. The sunset was approaching in the late afternoon, and we gazed at the Alfred Basin from the Clocktower Bridge. Suddenly, this offshore rowing boat – 24 rowers and one captain – appeared from behind and under the bridge, returning home from a training in the open sea in front of the city. Brave men and women!
The sunlight was indeed magic, and I was happy to capture this beautiful image.
