The story behind the image
Here’s another shot of the Squirrel Session earlier this year where I tell the full story.
It’s interesting to see that I captured this photo roughly 20 minutes later. Between the two images were several failed attempts, a period of hiding (on the squirrel’s side), and a bit of coffee drinking with the parents-in-law. All-in-all, I spent about 60 minutes on this subject, an experience that rembered me of the wildlife sessions in Southern Africa. Admittedly, the animals were larger over there, but the principle have been the same: wait – watch – shoot.
This photo has made it as a poster print to the door of my daughter, by the way. What an honor!
