The story behind the image
What could possibly go wrong with a wedding planned for mid July? Well, as it turned out, the weather forecast was bad (cold and rainy). To make matters worse, the photo shooting was planned to take place in the large gardens of Schloß Schleißheim near Munich. So we were lucky that at least it had not yet started to rain. But sky was covered with dark coulds. Then I realized that, thanks to the bad weather, we were basically alone in the gardens. (These are open to the public.) This enabled me to shoot nice, long shots without other visitors in the frame. This also gives a sense of freedom and space. I had brought a large white umbrella which the couple used as an accessory and to protect against the light rain that now began to set in.
I adore this image because you hardly notice the bad weather conditions. They really look like prince and princess who take a walk in their own garden, because noone else can be seen. The other official photos turned out nicely as well.
