The story behind the image
We love to hike on beautiful days. Yesterday was such a day, and I brought my ‘good camera’ to see what exciting views we might see.
We drove to Grundern which is located between Bad Tölz and Lenggries, Germany, to hike on the Sonntraten Trail. It’s an easy yet steep trail with plenty of exciting viewpoints. As we were in the Indian Summer, the trees were showing a wild mix of green, red, orange, and brown tones.
The sun was shining from a clear sky and I was sweating from carrying the camera bag and lenses. But it was a good choice to bring the gear. For this shot I paced the sun in the exact center and manually set the aperture to 1/100 sec at f/22. I love the blue sky, the star-like sun, and the cadence of the mountains in the distance. Awesome.
