The story behind the image
My mother had always been attracted to art and artworks as her parents had collected a few paintings of artists living in Northern Germany. In the late 1980s and throughout the 1990s she created a number of paintings herself, which I inherited after her death.
Today I share another one that got lost over time. All I have is this reproduction of the 40×30 cm oil painting. The painting shows a typical farm in Schleswig-Holstein in Germany where she grew up and lived most of her life. It could be imagined, or it could be real – I can’t say.
But I do like the strong and bright colors. In combination with the patches of blue sky you can almost feel sense the warm light of the sun late in winter.
Love that image, even if it is just a reproduction.
