The story behind the image
The ‘Angel of Peace’ overlooks Munich in Germany from above the Isar River, and it is one of the icons of the city.
In September 2006 I took my camera to capture the monument shortly before sunset. The sun had already assumed its orange glow and came nicely from the side. I deliberateley selected a somewhat weird angle that gave the angel the center stage.
I really like this image, especially its warm colors.
May the promise of the angel – peace – be our guide for 2025. I think it’s really needed.
