Highway 89, Arizona

The story behind the image

From the Grand Canyon National Park we droved to Page, Arizona, using Highway 89. For miles and miles and miles we drove through a mostly untouched landscape with very little signs of human life (except the highway and road signs, of course.) I found it interesting that now and then there were gas stations, isolated houses, and even small communities.

I shot this image, for example, about 30 minutes north of Cameron, near the GAP Trading Post. The buildings show the giant size of the rocks.

I composed this panorama photo from two slides so the file can be used for really large prints.

Very nice.
