The story behind the image
From the Grand Canyon National Park we droved to Page, Arizona, using Highway 89. For miles and miles and miles we drove through a mostly untouched landscape with very little signs of human life (except the highway and road signs, of course.) I found it interesting that now and then there were gas stations, isolated houses, and even small communities.
I shot this image, for example, about 30 minutes north of Cameron, near the GAP Trading Post. The buildings show the giant size of the rocks.
I composed this panorama photo from two slides so the file can be used for really large prints.
