The story behind the image
The other day I posted an image showing the view from Duntulm Castle – through a hole in the wall. Here’ a more common wide-angle view of the beautiful ruins situated at the north-western tip of Skye in Scotland.
As you can see looking at the surface of the water, a strong wind was blowing, and so we were glad that the remaining walls of the castle provided some protection.
We reached this remote spot by driving the A855 up north from Portree. We planned for a full day excursion, and we did not get disappointed. The island is beautiful everywhere, but the northern part is quite rural, too, so you get to see very few fellow tourists.
