The story behind the image
From Portree in Scotland we used the A855 heading directly towards the northern tip of the Isle of Skye. We planned for a full day for the excursion, and we did not get disappointed. The island is beautiful everywhere, but the northern part is quite rural, too, so you get to see very few fellow tourists despite its popularity.
Along the A855 we found the Skye Museum of Island Life, the Grave of Flora MacDonald, the Kilt Rock & Mealt Falls, Loch Fada, The Quiraing, and Highland Cattle. Just to name a few of the highlights.
Now we visited Duntulm Castle, a ruin at the north-western tip of the island. A strong wind was blowing, and so we were glad that the remaining walls of the castle provided some protection. I found this hole in the wall pretty interesting, and so I captured the view.
