The story behind the image
We did a weekend trip to Florence in Italy in Spring. Our hotel, the Grand Hotel Cavour, was situated close to the city center, so we decided to use an overnight train from Munich to Florence, avoiding the horrible traffic in the small streets and the effort to find a parking lot.
One of the top features of the hotel is it’s fabulous, yet unusual, view from the roof top patio. Here’s a decent photo of the Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore with the Campanile di Giotto tower – a timeless, iconic beauty in the heart of the city.
