The story behind the image
When we were in La Spezia in Italy, we also visited Portovenere, a beautiful village south of La Spezia with a long history. A long winded road slows you down significantly, enabling you to enjoy and experience the sights along your short journey.
We approached the main village of Portovenere from high above the sea level, and parked the car at the Via Olivio next to the harbour. The afternoon sun was already throwing longer shadows, and I captured this postcard shot showing the harbour and some boat activity.
