The story behind the image
We ha dexpected a beautiful sunset. The sky was clear, the wind was blowing, and not a single cloud could be seen anywhere. We had booked a table for dinner at The Tug (which can be seen on the far left on the photo), a very good restaurant with local specialities, located directly at Swakop’s main beach.
Fortunately, we were a ahead of time and captured several awesome photos of the beach and the historic Jetty Bridge (aka ‘Jetty Pier’) that stretches into the Atlantic Ocean. Of course, we also shot a couple of photos from the bridge, like this one.
I really like the warm light of the setting sun. The relatively long exposure time of 1/40 sec adds some motion blur to the rough waves. Very nice.
