The story behind the image
Our trip to Namibia was nearing its end. Two more nights, and we’d be flying back to Munich in Germany. A couple of weeks before we had picked up a perfectly clean car, a Volkswagen Polo Classic sedan, at the airport in Windhoek. Now we were standing in Maltahöhe, where you will find just a petrol station, a super market, a church, a hotel, and – finally – a tarred road again! Awesome! Driving the C19 with our sedan was okay-ish, but we felt much better to be on a tarred road again, especially considering the tire change within the Skeleton National Park and the deep gravel lanes between Swakopmund and Sesriem.
So, I could not resist to take a photo of our dust covered car at Maltahöhe. (We cleaned the car in Windhoek prior to returning it, because we did not want to start an argument with the rental company.)
