The story behind the image
Earlier today I shared an image of the Piazzale degli Uffizi in Florence, Italy, and I recommended a visit. Here’s why: The tiny place (which is the meaning of the term Piazzale) is surrounded by magnificient artwork. One example is this statue of Niccola Pisano, an Italian sculptor who lived in Italy in the 13th century and revolutionized this art form, and according to Wikipedia, is sometimes considered to be the founder of modern sculpture.
