The story behind the image
Everyone wants to see one or more elephants when visiting the Kruger National Park in South Africa. On our 2011 trip we saw several elephants and were quite happy about this. However, this image is quite special as it shows an elephant we had not noticed in the green scrub next to the road when we passed the large animal. Suddenly it showed up in the rear mirror, just where we were mere seconds ago. I just had time to grab the Ricoh point-and-shoot camera to capture this moment.
Very, very nice.
