The story behind the image
Last weekend we visited the Chirstmas Market in Bad Nauheim, Germany. While Bad Nauheim is best known as the city where Elvis Presley spent his time while serving the U.S. Army, it is home to a beautiful Christmas Market that takes place every year on one weekend in December. Countless small booths offer exclusive gifts and Christmas decoration as well as food and drinks while musicians play festive music. There’s also a sense of art in the air as the greens and trees are beautifully illuminated, and artists create their work.
There was a duo of ice artists who created awesome sculptures from raw ice blocks. One of these sculptures was this unicorn.
I love the harsh contrast between the illuminated sculpture and the dark surroundings and can only admire the artists who create the sculpture really out of nothing.
In any event, if you’re in the region in December, it’s certainly worth considering a visit to this extraordinary Christmas Market.
