The story behind the image
This autumn we spent a couple of days at the Tiroler Hof in Ehrwald, Austria. A short drive from the hotel is the trail head of the Lermoos panoramic trail that leads to the Tuftl Alm. The Alm is home to a good restaurant and beer garden while the nearby Lermoos viewing platform provides stunning views across Lermoos, Ehrwald, and the Zugspitz Arena.
On our way back we used the tarred road from the Alm towards the valley, and I captured this stunning autumn view of the Zugspitzarena with the village of Ehrwald in the center.
I admit that I never tried the panorama photo option of my (now aging) Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo phone. Now I did, more by curiosity. And I was stunned by the result. Sure, the image is tiny, compared to a series of DSLR shots merged into one super large image. And there’s also an ever so tiny motion blur visible in the high resolution image. But the result is good enough for showing around. And for refreshing nice memories. 🙂
