The story behind the image
This photo shows the southern end of the Peyto Lake in the Canadian Rocky Mountains, seen from the viewing platform that you can reach after an exhausting 20 minute uphill walk. Compared to the view towards north, the view towards south-west is less popular because the turquoise water of the lake shows just in a small section of the image and the star shape of the lake cannot be seen. I still find it intriguing because of the giant mountains and glacier in the distance. And the colors are simply awesome.
