The story behind the image
Gravedona is one of those organically grown towns around the Lago di Como in Italy. Every step shouts ‘history’, and life moves along calmly. That’s why we selected the town for a week of vacation in 2011.
The northern end of Gravedona’s waterfront has a stunning viewpoint high above the street that provides excellent view across the town and the lake. The southern end of the town is marked by the Chiesa Santa Maria del Tiglio (in the image on the left) which has been erected in the 12th and 13th century. A bit further down south you’ll find a tiny community beach, the Spiagga di Gravedona.
We liked Gravedona and Lago di Como very much and look forward to returning in the future.
