The story behind the image
The other day the Generali München Marathon 2022 took place, a large running event in Munich, Germany. Usually, I would have started on the Half Marathon course but was very late to the registration and finally decided against it because the starter fees leaned towards, um, the expensive side. But a friend from Switzerland was running and we cheered for him on the final few meters before entering the Olympic Stadium.
In the stadium I saw this wonderful sea of empty seats and simply had to capture this very graphic image. Sadly I had just brought my smartphone and I had to crop the image, so the image size is tiny (in terms of pixels.) But I like the image, and that counts. For me, anyway.
