The story behind the image
We had checked in at our hotel in Page, Arizona, in the late afternoon. It was far too late for visiting the Antelope Canyon (which should be visited around noon anyway) and too early for dinner. So we asked at the hotel reception for other attractions in the area. The friendly clerk pointed out that the Glen Canyon Dam and Lake Powell are spectacular sights. And she was right.
After a very short ride with the car we visited the dam that blocks the streams of multiple rivers, forming Lake Powell. The lake is quite popular with water enthusiasts, and when a speedboat approached the dam and made a U-turn I captured the moment against the sunlight of the late afternoon. Nice.
