The story behind the image
Petra and I got married today, exactly 19 years ago, and this day was certainly one of the best days in my life. First came the official part at the registry office in Unterhaching, just the formal and somewhat bureaucratic step needed for legal reasons. And then, at 2 pm, came the formal wedding at the Heilandskirche in Unterhaching, followed by a reception in the backyard of the church and a party with family and friends in Grünwald near Munich.
Stefan Kolbe did this portrait photo Petra and me on negative film, and I am really grateful for the excellent quality of his work. Gosh, Petra looks wonderful in this shot, and I look a lot younger, too. It’s hard to believe that we’ve now been married for 19 years, and I love her just like back then. Time flies!
