The story behind the image
We came early to the gravel beach of Chieming at the Chiemsee and were greeted by an unusual strong, warm wind from the west. There were even tiny waves that clashed onto the beach. Yet, the first swimmers and a SUP were out on the lake already. Wow. Talk about dedication.
I liked the view of Chiemsee under the clear blue sky and the soft, warm colors of the morning sunlight, so I shot this photo with my smartphone. Should you be in the area during a hot summer day and need a rest or refreshment, I recommend a side trip to Chieming for a swim. It’s not that expensive and has the (very good) Italian restaurant Al Dente right next to the beach. Both thumbs up, one for the beach, and one for the restaurant.
