The story behind the image
We were exploring the Lago Maggiore which is half Swiss and half Italy. We stayed in our appartment on the Swiss side but took the ferry to visit Luino in Italy, home to one of the largest public markets in Europe. On Wednesday, more than 400 stands offer their goods in the town center. It has become a tourist magnet by now and is an important economical factor for the region.
One of the many stands sold sunglasses, an overwhelming number of them. They were cheap and not exceptionally beautiful but the salesman had arranged them neatly, and I could not resist to take a fun shot showing just the sunglasses. After all, we were in Italy, and in Italy you’re going to need sunglasses.
