The story behind the image
We took our time driving home from the lighthouse at Cabo de Sao Vicente in Portugal, which officially marks the most south-western point of the European continent. It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to capture the beautiful, rough beaches in the area.
This wide-angle shot shows Praia do Tonel in Sagres. (The town is home to the famous Portuguese Sagres beer.) A single person walks along the beach, near to the center, and the lighthouse can be seen in the distance. I like the tranquility that emerges from this shot: No tourist masses, calm weather, an undisturbed sky. Nice.
