The story behind the image
We did a side-trip to Florence – a great destination all year but even better during summer. We had been to Florence before, several times, but I was still lacking a decent photo of the Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore (aka the “Duomo”.) I had a couple of slides but no native digital images.
We were lucky as the sun was shining nicely, and so the large building with the iconic red roof contrasted well with the clear blue sky which offers some copyspace. Nice.
Make note to self: Return to Florence soon!
