The story behind the image
Scotland is huge and not densely populated by any means. This make it perfect for travelers seeking freedom, fresh air and undisturbed nature. In these respects the country is similar to Canada. So when I picked the image I posted this morning, I realized I had shot an image of a RV in July 2005 already – on the Isle of Skye in Scotland.
We drove the narrow A855 from Portree to the Northern tip of Skye to hike along The Quiraing, an impressive mountain stretch far away from everything. On our way we passed Loch Leathan where I spotted this RV parked next to the road.
I think this photo communicates the wide and open Scottish landscape. The bright white vehicle stands out prominently in the countless shades of blue and green that surround it.
Just watching the photo stirs my desire to go for another visit to Scotland soon. Wonderful.
