The story behind the image
One of the long standing traditions in Munich is the Auerdult market which is a wild mix of folk festival and jumble market. You’ve got fun rides, a (small) beer tent, food stands, antique shops, and novelties. This very wide portfolio makes Auerdult unique but fortunately it takes places three times a year (spring, summer, and autumn.) You can find all the information on the official homepage.
I saw the bright and colorful balloons of a toy stand floating in the sky, and next to tower of the Mariahilf church. I realized that its perfectly suited to illustrate the two faces of the Auerdult – a funny, lighthearted one, and a serious one. I like the bright colors and round shapes of the balloons that contrast well with the subdued colors and straight lines of the church. A bit of copyspace is nice, too. Nice.
