The story behind the image
There are only two images in the family photo archive that show my mother while visibly being pregnant (with me), and this is one of them. We have tons of pictures before and after, but the period of her high pregnancy seems like a blank spot in terms of photos. At 22 years, she may not have been prepared to become a mother and may have had issues with her look.
In June 1965, my father photographed her in Kiel at the Krusenkoppel with its gentle green hills. In the back you can see the regional government buildings and the Kieler Förde.
