The story behind the image
When we were in La Spezia, Italy, we also visited Portovenere, a beautiful village south of La Spezia with a long history. A long winded road slows you down significantly, enabling you to enjoy and experience the sights along your short journey.
We approached the main village of Portovenere from high above the sea level, stopping at the Parcheggio località Cavo Portovenere as well as further down the road, near the Carabinieri station. The afternoon sun was already beginning to throw longer shadows, and the contrast highlights the awesome sea views even more.
