The story behind the image
On our trip to Scotland we also visited Portpatrick at the most western point of Dumfries and Galloway. Portpatrick is a tiny village with many colourful houses directly the working harbour. While this is certainly an unusual place for swimming, it was so hot on that day that several people took a bath to refresh. As you can see, there is a tiny beach close to the harbour, so you can easily enter the water or simply relax on the rocks.
There are a number of hotels and B&Bs here, and when the weather plays along, we suggest to consider Portpatrick for an overnight stay.
