The story behind the image
We spent a couple of days in Bad Hofgastein in Austria, a peaceful town in Austria that attracts hikers, mountain bikers and wellness seekers. It’s just a 2½ hours drive away from Munich and ideal for a short vacation. Late in spring the weather was sunny and warm already, and we went for a walk to explore one of the nearby trails.
We passed the Mariä-Himmelfahrt-Kirche and the attached graveyard, and suddenly this beaufiful sight appeared. While I am not a huge fan of graveyards, I like the clear colors of this photo. The large number of the tombstones seem to be on a tiny space (yet the graveyard is quite large), and no trees distract from their uniqueness.
