The story behind the image
South Africa is known to tourists for its friendly people, rich culture, awesome wildlife, excellent food and beautiful beaches. We discovered this beach – Maitland beach – west of Port Elizabeth. It’s incredible wide and seems to be endless.
The high viewpoint allows for excellent views across this remarkable beach and its huge sand dunes. I love this photo because it puts the man into perspective: the couple that walks along the beach is really tiny compared to the rest of the scenery that you get a sense of the size of the beach and the relentless power of the waves rolling in.
