The story behind the image

The Scots say that this is their most romantic castle: Eilean Donan Castle, and indeed it looks beautiful as it stands on its own small island, connected just by a stone bridge. This is a must-see for your trip to Scotland.

The best viewpoint for photos is on the western side of the castle across the A87 bridge. In the evening you’ll be simply blown away by the beauty of this place. (And in case of strong winds, you may rather be blown away by the strong winds.)
