The story behind the image
Tsitsikamma National Park is one of the small parks in South Africa, and the masses of tourists who want to see ‘The Big Five’ (Elephant, Lion, Rhino, Buffalo, and Leopard) will usually pass this park, because none of these animals can be found here. They head to Addo Elephant Park or just skip the Garden Route altogether and travel to Kruger National Park.
This makes Tsitsikamma even more attractive, because it offers several beautiful hikes (like the Otter Trail), on-site attractions (like the Suspension Bridge) and all ameneties a nature-loving traveller is looking for (especially, the nice Chalets and the good restaurant.)
We were lucky and got one of the houses overlooking the camp site for two nights. A wonderful experience once the day tourists have left the park. At night you will hear just the waves clashing at the rocks.
I captured this photo before sunset. I love the mist of the Ocean in the distance, the majestic clouds on the right and the reflections of the sky on the water.
