The story behind the image
A two-week trip to the beautiful island of Tenerife offered plenty of photo opportunities. In November it was still warm enough to go to the beach, but as the island sits unprotected in the Atlantic Ocean, there can always be strong winds. No wonder that it is a paradise for windsurfers. These four windsurfers were apparently able to harness the strongly blowing wind, and it was exciting to see them speeding across the water.
By now I had gotten used to my new DSLR, so I put the burst mode to good use and captured several action shots of the windwurfers rushing by. I still remember that the wind was really strong – and too strong for us. So, after about 20 minutes we decided to leave the beach again and spend the rest of the day at the pool.
