The story behind the image
Alsace in France has several beautiful historic towns, and one of these is Colmar. In 2001, we visited the old town with its narrow streets and old buildings. It was late in the morning in September.
The river La Lauch flowed through the quarter called La Petite Venise (Little Venice), and it’s easy to see why this name is a good match: The houses have been built right next to the river, and the sight indeed resembled Venice in Italy. This is the view from the bridge at Rue Turenne.
Looking at recent images I see that the location has not changed at all.
Colmar? Well worth a visit!
