The story behind the image
This image from one of the recently purchased lots shows a small cargo vessel named 103 Mosel at the quay of Schweinfurt in Germany. The backside of the image carries a short handwritten note “Auf Fahrt” (“On Tour” in english), so it might well be possible that the image was shot by the owner himself, or a crew member, documenting the various harbors on his trips.
I like the image forr its simplicity and accurate execution. It is sharp and has a well-belanced exposure even if the print came out a bit on the light side. But this was easy to correct in Photoshop.
All-in-all, a nice maritime image from a period long gone.
