The story behind the image
Our village, Unterhaching in Germany, is situated south of Munich and pretty close to the Alps. Most winters bring a few days of extreme snowfall, often over night, and when you wake up in the morning, the landscape has changed entirely. Everything will then be covered by a huge layer of snow and it will be really quiet as the snow dampens most noises and their reflections.
The night between 9th and 10th January 2019 had been such a night, and during the walk with Clara to the kindergarden, I took this snapshot with my smartphone. Usually the snow turns into dark brown and dirty patches within a couple of days, so capturing the fresh and unspoilt snow for documentation was the purpose of this image.
Nice.
