The story behind the image
Our day trip to the Cape of Good Hope was coming to an end, and we used the curvy and beautiful Chapman’s Peak Drive to get slowly back to Cape Town. The drive reminded us to Highway 101 in California. Admittedly, it was not as long as its Californian twin but it provided equally impressive views along the rugged coastline.
And we took our time for plenty of photo stops enroute. This photo shows Scarborough Beach. The waves of the Atlantic Ocean were rolling in constantly and created a lot of mist. This could be the reason why the next village on the M65 is actually called Misty Cliffs. 😉
A stunning experience.
Later we had dinner in Camps Bay where we gazed into the setting sun and watching the paragliders land. Even if this happened 20+ years ago, I still fondly remember that day.
When in Cape Town, do yourself a favor and plan for a trip to Cape of Good Hope.
